Yang Technology Co., =
Ltd Introduction

Yeong Yang is a professional chassis=20
manufacturing company supplying OEM/ODM =
cases for=20
the desktop and server market for over 15 =
years.=20
Their plant in NingBo, China can produce =
around=20
150K-200K desktop cases and 5K-8K server =
cases per=20
month and has around 300 employee's.
We will be looking at the new YY-5601 =
desktop=20
case in a Mid-tower ATX format. The case =
is geared=20
towards desktop OEM and office use, though =
mod=20
potential is high for those looking to do =
so. This=20
is a black model with a platinum colored =
front=20
door and louvers for front air intake. I =
find the=20
intake which is filtered to be a neat =
idea. A=20
ducted blow hole is included on the side =
panel to=20
allow fresh air intake to the heat sink, =
even=20
loaded temps were impressive with this =
case. Fit=20
and finish on the case are excellent. Case =
is well=20
constructed from steel, no sharp edges and =
the=20
rest of case is recycled plastics.

The YY-5601 comes with a front door =
that covers=20
the CD-ROM bays. This door also will lay =
flat=20
against side panel when fully opened which =
is a=20
nice touch. Top front of the case is the =
control=20
panel where the power and reset switch's =
are=20
located, alongside of USB x 2, Firewire x =
1 and=20
connections for headphones and microphone. =
The=20
power and HDD LED's are also located there =
as=20
well. Just below this control panel is a =
molded=20
built in area for a 3.5" FD. The whole =
idea of=20
this case is tool less installation of =
components=20
except the motherboard. This includes=20
adding pci cards and all the hard =
drives and=20
cd-roms you add to the system using a =
special pin=20
screw designed to aid in stopping =
vibrations from=20
the drives.
=20
=20
The front door on this case does allows =
access=20
to one main CD/DVD-ROM via a push =
button and=20
stealth door to allow your cd-rom to open =
without=20
having to open the front door panel. Yeong =
Yang=20
sends a compatibility list of CD/DVD-ROM =
that will=20
work with their stealth door, not all =
will, might=20
be best to check out the list prior to =
your=20
optical drive purchase if possible for =
this case.=20
The Pioneer model 115 DVD used in this =
review=20
isn't compatible with the stealth drive =
bay cover.=20
The floppy drive is also accessible =
regardless of=20
door position. Side door is lockable for =
added=20
security.
=20
=20
A 300 watt Ever Power PS was included =
with this=20
case, along with one 120 fan, there's room =
for=20
another front mounted 120 mm fan which in =
my=20
opinion is needed to stop dead spots from =
forming=20
around the motherboard area. The case =
temps were=20
higher than cpu temps while running with =
just the=20
rear 120 mm fan installed and was also the =
case=20
with both fans installed. Noise levels of =
the case=20
are not bad but not silent by any means =
though not=20
annoying.
=20

Instructions are included with this =
case as are=20
drive rails for hard drives and cd-roms =
all neatly=20
tucked into a purple parts box that was =
screwed=20
into the hard drive area when case =
arrived,=20
another very nice touch. Instructions were =
a bit=20
sparse for my liking a few more written =
details=20
along with the sketch's would have been =
nice,=20
though most will not have any difficulty =
figuring=20
things out. The case is very solid, and =
fairly=20
heavy, but average for a steel case.
=20

Building inside the case was very =
pleasant and=20
easy with lots of room to work. Packaging =
was=20
excellent and case suffered no ill affects =
during=20
shipping from Taiwan.
